If so, you might be a candidate for a bankruptcy. With limited exceptions, all your debts are discharged. Your sole obligations are to make your monthly payment to the trustee and to attend two counselling sessions. The term of the bankruptcy will vary from nine to thirty six months. This will vary depending on your income and previous bankruptcy, if any.

 

Every debtor is required to make a monthly deposit with the Trustee. For those whose earnings are above the bankruptcy standard table payments are calculated by a government table. Those earning less, will pay a nominal amount agreed to with the Trustee.
